Big time Hanley trade...WHIR

Postby jasonpm311 » Thu May 12, 2011 5:54 pm

12-team H2H mixed league

I give up Hanley, Todd Helton, Matt Capps, and John Danks

I get Jimmy Rollins, Youkilis, Huston Street, and Hamels

Should I do it? Post your links so I can help in return. Thanks!

you win each person except the hanley jimmy part of course but cole hamels youklis and huston is healthy and back to 09 form i like it

if this deals here now wait another 3 or 4 days see if hanley is really starting to come around i feel he has been he hit a homerun off cliff lee he hit 2 hits off roy halladay lets see if this is somthin

then if ur still sure on selling hanley you can do this deal ina few days and get somthin better

you might be able 2 get him 2 add another guy better than anyone on the waiver wire and worse than ur worst player

I don't like it. Sure you are getting back Youk and Hamels and they certainly are an upgrade from Danks, Helton. However, you are not getting enough back for Hanley. Rollins is no longer dependable as far as I am concerned. Not only are you selling Hanley cheap, but you are getting back a SS who I wouldn't trust to make it through the rest of the regular season without another stint on the DL. Now while you can never predict injury, Rollins is certainly one player I would want to make sure I had a backup for. I agree with the above poster who suggested waiting a few days and seeing if you can get the other owner to add another player. Im not sure what else you can add to this, but maybe an upgrade of one of the current players?

I think it is a fair deal. Helton is barely ownable and Danks is nothing special. Youk and Hamels are huge upgrades there. J-Roll isn't like he used to be but he still has a good batting slot in a good lineup.

Maybe you could wait it out a little though. Hanley seems to be hitting better lately andonce he proves to be the Hanley of old, you may be able to get more.

Its not a bad deal, but you may be selling a little low on Hanley. I guess it really depends on what you need for your team. I tend to favor this kind of deal when I need to upgrade several slots on my team. If you are actually starting Helton and Danks on a regular basis, then this deal probably makes sense.

It's not bad but I think you would be selling Hanley low here if you did this deal. Hanley is one of those special players like Pujols who you have to be overwhelmed to trade. I wouldn't do it.

please help

Thanks for the input guys. Obviously I'm getting feedback on both sides, and am really torn on this one. I guess that's a good sign because I probably won't either lose big or win big, and getting Youk would help make up for me losing Morales. Then again, I don't know. Maybe I should wait. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated, and, as you can see, would get a respone from me if you post a link to your question. Thanks!
