Morneau dropped, I have to try to claim him, right? WHIR

Postby saemick » Thu May 12, 2011 12:58 am

As mentioned above, Morneau was just dropped and I have the #4 priority. I have to try and get him, right? Here's my current roster:

12-team 6x6 H2H Yahoo! NON-KEEPER league
c: Posada
1b: Miggy
2b: Beckham
ss: Reyes
3b: Youk
IF: Fielder
OF: McCutchen, Pence, Ibanez
Utl: Scott
BN: Raburn, Alvarez
SP: Verlander, Liriano, Scherzer, Volquez, Hellickson, Zimmerman, Pineda, Jurrjens, Bailey, Wolf
RP: , Perez, Walden, League, Melancon, (Broxton - DL)
Stat categories: Hitters: R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS Pitchers: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, QS

I plan to drop Wolf (or Volquez) for him.

but yea try eric karabell says its all migriaine headhaches tons of medicine concussion he lost 15 pounds since the start of the year i suspect a really good second half or atleast a run at some point during the second half where he monsters out i dont no i drafted this guy 49th thinkin 1st base was really heavy and ss was so thin that i could make up for it later at 1bag wish i didnt go hanley ramerez wish i woulda just been like everyone else and took pujols wit da first pick

Yes, you do. Morneau is finally starting to put some hits together. He should not be on any WW. Drop either Wolf or Volquez, or both.

Definitely add Morneau. He was an obp machine last year before injury, and once the lingering effects from the concussion are finally gone there is no reason to think he can't return to at least a semblance of that production. For a 12 team league, your offense is looking nice, so taking a flier on a guy like Morneau won't hurt much if it fails. If it pans out, your team could be elite.

He's certainly worth a claim. Too much potential reward to let him pass through.

yup... and you are not in a situation where you NEED him which is perfect. You can let him sit on the bench until he's back to being himself or makes it clear that he is no longer a valid option. I think he might struggle for half the year, but I expect him to be a stud for the second half. He might just save you down the stretch.

help with mine?

Do it!

His BABIP is .247 right now, his luck will come around soon. The power is down, but he is still getting into form and re-gaining a feel for the game.
