Cano for Crawford

Postby mgerrish@johare.com » Wed May 11, 2011 2:41 pm

I need help with this one...I was offered:

My: CC Sabathia and Carl Crawford
His: Oswalt and Cano

He said he would throw in someene else, but it is not going to be a good player so it is basically 2 for 2.

Thoughts??

I love Cano, he is one of the top 2 or 3 bats in the entire league but I still believe in Crawford's bounce back and CC will end the year with 17+ wins. Not to mention Oswalt is on the DL with his back, and at his age that could be a problem all year. So I wouldn't do it.

Hope that helped, if you get a chance.

Who do you have on 2nd base? overall though, i don't think i like this trade for you. On pitching alone, i think Oswalt isn't at the same level as Sabathia and as was mentioned before, he is on the DL and that could hinder him in the future. Cano is a great player but so is Crawford and it seems like he's really starting to settle in with Boston and could really start hitting well soon. it could be frustrating to trade away a player right before he goes on a hot streak and for that reason alone, i wouldn't go for this trade.

help on mine if you can:

I would actually be getting Cano and Oswalt and not giving them up.

The trade that I actually did was:

GOT: Cano, Justin Upton and Oswalt
GAVE: Crawford, Castro and Sabathia

Thoughts?? How did I do???

Do you have a back up SS that can fill in for Castro?

Either way, I think you did great on that trade. Cano stands alone at the top tier 2b by himself imo. ;-D

I have Andrus as my SS and Phillips as my 2B/SS and now Cano has my 2B.

I was a little worried about losing the steals that Crawford might get me, and being from Boston, it is hard to trade away a Red Sox, but Cano has been a favorite of mine for many years.

My new offense:

C: Y. Molina (Mauer on DL)
1B: Miggy Cabrera
2B: Cano
SS: Andrus
3B: A-Rod
2B/SS: Phillips
1B/3B: Adrian Gonzalez
OF: Ethier, Burbon, Granderson and Upton
Util: Youk and Carlos Pena
Bench: Swisher and Pierre
