Braun for Jered Weaver? WHIR!!

Postby RUnited » Wed May 11, 2011 1:16 pm

Got a trade proposal... my Weaver for his Braun.

If I make this trade, will my team become too unbalanced? I'll have 5 good outfielders and not know where to put them! But is Braun worth the upgrade??

Don't think I can trade Crawford or Choo for much right now as they're not really hitting.

Here's my team:

Montero
M Cabrera
Pedroia
Beltre
Rollins
Crawford
Victorino
Bautista
Util: Konerko
Bench: Choo
Bench: Alex Avila
DL: Zimmerman

SP: Weaver, Ubaldo, CJ Wilson, Jaime Garcia, Masterson, Chacin, De La Rosa
RP: Marmol, Feliz, Madson, Street

His team

Posey
Kendrick
Cano
David Wright
Starlin Castro
Braun
CarGo
Matt Joyce
Util: Polanco
Bench: Adam Lind
DL: Logan Morrison
DL: Sandoval

SP: Hudson, Price, Haren, Kershaw, Lohse, Anibal Sanchez
RP: Bell, Walden, Rauch, Putz

WHIR as always... Thanks!

Do this trade and worry about having too many awesome outfielders later.

Wow, this is weird... I just traded Weaver for Braun myself, and was worried about it making me too unbalanced.

Having said that, I made the trade, and I think your staff looks good otherwise. I'd make the trade if I were you. Having the extra depth on offense will give you some trade options if you need pitching help later. The bottom line is that I think Braun is going to be a top 3-5 player this year. While Weaver is awesome, he's not that good from a value stand point.

Getting Braun for Weaver alone is a huge boon for you. Even though it gives you too many good outfielders, on pure value alone you must accept this trade. From there, you should have no trouble moving an outfielder or two for an upgrade elsewhere.

Go for it man, you got great quality out of weaver that he probably won't get close to for the rest of the season. and with those elite outfielders, you could probably trade one away to pick up a strong top tier ace and maybe even two 2nd tier guys. i like how this works out for you

i could use a bit of help myself:
