Ubaldo trade - who to offer? Help please WHIR

My OF is stacked and am looking to rade for SP. Ubaldo is available and i was going to offer Ellsbury and Stubbs. I love both these players but i need to improve my pitching and this still leaves me with Choo, Rios & Chris Young at OF. Good trade? Should i offer young instead of Ellsbury? Cheers JNC

I'm not sure you realized this, but Chris Young is injured according to the latest update. They don't know how long he'll be out yet so they haven't put a DL timeframe on it.

Perhaps this changes your strategy? If you still want to trade even with Young on DL, I'd just offer up Choo in a one for one deal for Ubaldo. I rank Rios the lowest in your group of OF, but I doubt a one for one deal for Ubaldo using Rios is going to work.

Ubaldo and Choo are both underperforming but have great potential. Depends on which direction you want to take and how to maximize your squad...

I actually agree whole heartedly with the above poster. I dont get why you need to trade 2 people for a good pitcher in a bad slump in a HUGE pitching year. Ubaldo should be regarded as what he is, in the bottom half of the top 25 pitchers. Offense is premium this year, and trading 2 for one decent pitcher is a bad idea IMO, especially someone like Ellsbury

I'd take Ubaldo over Chris Carpenter if you can get him. Ubaldo has more upside. Carpenter is in decline in my opinion.

Who you offer depends on your ranking in the league at the moment. You have guys who are performing in Stubbs and Ellsbury, and a potentially lethal weapon in Choo who might wake up in June.

The problem is both Ubaldo and Carpenter are not at their peak yet. If you trade Ellsbury or Stubbs for him you'd be stuck with Choo and Ubaldo/Carpenter not performing in May.

If you can accept that, then go for it. Both should be great in the second half of the season in my opinion, so it's just a question of timing and your strategy.

Thanks guys - i offered Rios for Ubaldo and got rejected. I have countered with Ellsbury for Ubaldo. Lets see what happens. Did i mention that i picked up Ellsbury of free agency after some fool dropped him after 2 weeks....
