Too Many SP, not enough bench space

Postby mdc2161 » Tue May 10, 2011 1:10 pm

I'm pretty happy with my rotation (12 team H2H):

SP- Verlander, Jaime Garcia, Greinke, Ian Kennedy, Wandy Rodriguez, Chad Billingsley
RP- Street, Putz, Walden, Melancon
DL- Jose Contreras

That said, Beachy, Stauffer and Bud Norris all seem to have a lot of potential upside, and it's hard to just watch them sit on the waiver wire. Sitting with my current lineup will be good, I'm sure, but is it worth it to risk losing Kennedy by streaming my last pitching spot? Or are any of those three worth a permanent spot?

Seems to be my biggest problem, with hitting as well. I can see plenty of available talent sitting as free agents in my league, but everyone on my team is performing, perhaps, too well to warrant dropping

I would pick up Beachy and drop Wandy (or Ian Kennedy, but I'd keep him over Wandy).
Also, instead of streaming the spot with Beachy, I'd roll with him for a while.

If you have to drop, drop Wandy. He's only average on WHIP and is not going to get a lot of wins in Houston. My bet's on Beachy for the better season.

But in a 12 team league, I'm sure someone else needs pitching. Try packing Wandy with a 2nd-tier hitter and to upgrade your bats -- frees up a roster spot and improves your team.

Help, if you please:
