3B Help - Alvarez or McGehee? WHIR

[Halo Girl]

I'm in a standard Yahoo 12 team H2H, non-keeper league.

Alvarez has done nothing so far and he's coming off an injury. McGehee was just cut loose. Should I pick him up? And if so should I drop Alvarez or someone else?

I agree. I would absolutely take McGehee. I think he is a lock to end up around 25 and 100. Who knows where Alvarez will be at the end of the year. Plus when McGehee gets hot he will get scooped up fast.

mcgehee is the kaboose in a outstanding offense and alvarez has mccutchen neil walker and jose tabata compared to rickie weeks ryan bruan corey hart prince feilder thats a no brainer esspecially with alvarez killing his owners please help with mine viewtopic.php?t=430029

I'll tell you what...both look horrendous right now which is obviously why their owners cut ties with them haha but I would have to agree with the other readers and say that McGehee is your best bet between the two and he definitely will be in the position to drive in more runs than Alvarez. Alvarez is a nice player but has some quetsion marks right now, hopefully for McGehee he's just in a funk and will snap out of it soon haha Good luck!!

I like McGehee over Alvarez by a landslide. Both have some pop but McGehee hits for better ba and in a better lineup. He should see a lot of pitches to hit batting 5th behind Braun and Fielder.

Nothing new for me to say here. McGehee is the better choice. No problem with cutting Alvarez loose.

I like McGee better as well. But bc 3B is so shallow (especially with injuries), I'd hold into both actually. Personally, I'd cut Gardner or Jones loose as you can find similar production in the OF in the hot FA of the week.
