My Carp/Kubel for his DLR/C. Perez/Bourn? WHIR

Postby KJROD20 » Mon May 09, 2011 2:37 pm

Was offered de la Rosa, Chris Perez, and Michael Bourn for Chris Carpenter and Jason Kubel. 12 team h2h points league. weekly rosters, 10 keepers. Currently 9 of 12 in total points scored but thanks to lucky matchups I'm 4-1 on the year. My roster below:

C Martinez, Victor
1B Votto, Joey
2B Phillips, Brandon
3B Wright, David
SS Andrus, Elvis
CI Hosmer, Eric
OF Bay, Jason
OF Rios, Alex
OF Stubbs, Drew
DH Figgins, Chone
U Scott, Luke
BN Hafner, Travis
BN Kubel, Jason
BN LaRoche, Adam
DL Young, Delmon
MINORS Mesoraco, Devin
MINORS Kipnis, Jason
MINORS Viciedo, Dayan
MINORS Jennings, Desmond
P Billingsley, Chad
P Carpenter, Chris
P Gallardo, Yovani
P Jackson, Edwin
P Masterson, Justin
P Santos, Sergio
P Weaver, Jered
BN Farnsworth, Kyle
BN Nathan, Joe
BN Nolasco, Ricky
DL Carrasco, Carlos
DL Niemann, Jeff
DL Young, Chris
MINORS Banuelos, Manuel
MINORS Montgomery, Mike
MINORS Sale, Chris
MINORS Turner, Jacob

We must have a minimum one closer active each week, and after Nathan crapped the bed, I've been struggling there. I know I'd be giving up the best player here, but I'd erase a big hole and get a decent replacement for Carp. After the season, I'd definitely keep Votto, Wright, VMart, Phillips, Weaver, Gallardo. The final 4 spots could be any of Rios, Andrus, Hosmer, Stubbs, Nolasco, Billingsley, dependent on 2011 performance. I'd obviously keep Carp, unless he retires, but being able to get a good return for 2011 and open a spot for a younger player to keep for 2012 might be a good reason to deal him now. Should I pull the trigger here? WHIR as always.

I think I like this too. It's a fair trade, and based on your needs, benefits you without giving up too much.

I would do this deal. You don't give up too much and you plug some holes.

I agree with the above. You are getting a very nice, high upside SP in DLR, and a rising star closer, along with a serviceable #4 or #5 OF. Do it.

Should I give Cliff Lee to get Evan Longoria? Help here please:
