I am last in my league in saves. I currently have Heath Bell and recently picked up Eduardo Sanchez. Should I pick up Contreras? Will he be healthy and any good after his stint on the DL?

Is Bailey available in your league? If he is, go for him.
Contreras when he comes back will only be holding the job until Brad Lidge is fit.
If you want a longer term solution I'd look at Bailey, or Padilla who's just been confirmed as a closer. He's also got SP/RP eligibility so you can use him in SP slot.

I think Contreras is going to be behind more than Lidge. Think about the Phillies long term situation. Lidge has an option for next year for something like $11M, and he's injury prone. They can keep Madsen next year for less than half that. If Madsen can hack it, he's the better value. Only way to find that out is to keep throwing him out there. Bottom line, doesn't look like Contreras is going to get a ton of opportunities.
help with mine?
viewtopic.php?t=429824I'm actually dealing with the opposite situation. Wondering whether to abandon saves altogether and beef up in other areas.

Bailey and Padilla are not available. I did pick up Melancon since Lyons is out for the moment at least. I don't know how much this will help since the Astros aren't a great team, but hopefully I can get some saves from it.
