Who do you see having the closer job in SD this year?

Will the padres trade for a closer?

:-B nothing set yet. they are still going through all the relievers to see who they have. I would stay away from all bullpen pitchers here till June, that'll be about when they figure it out. By then Trevor will be back in a July. Till then not even worth a Pick.
As for trading for one... I don't see it. There is a little talk about finding a middle of the lineup OF. They would have to pickup salary, and as everybody in baseball knows.......... that is voodoo around here. Next to last in the NL west this year. At least we will beat the Dodgers.

As much as I'd like to believe that, I don't know if that will happen. If Brown, Dreifort, and Ishii are healthy and playing well they will have an abundance of starting pitching (add Perez, Ashby, and Nomo), and all are pretty decent. And if Thurston plays well for them at second and adding McGriff at first, their lineup isn't shabby either. I think we're poised for another last place season :(

SD Closer

Brandon Villafuerte will be the Padre closer. With Witasik out Brandon will get most of the save oportunities. I believe he will thrive in this situation and even when Witasik comes back, he will remane getting most of the save situations.
