Can a Kiss From a Prince Wake This Sleeping Beauty? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Fri May 06, 2011 8:18 pm

My team is in 10th, so I made some trades to change things up a bit.
Pending the deals, my team will look like the below. Hopefully getting Prince Fielder will wake these guys up.
Aside from my obviously week RP (had to shed some to reel in the studs), does anyone see an obvious player I could use as trade bait to improve at a weak area?

I try and move Ogando and or Loshe, their selling points are high and well Ogando innings are going up real fast and Loshe is an avg pitcher through out his career. So I try and move one of the and a closer for a top notch closer.

Maybe its just cause its a 10 team league, but how is this team in 10th?

It's a 12 Team League.

Just terrible luck with guys I held over/drafted. This is the team I drafted ... I traded away a lot of the headaches, but as you can see, I REALLY had the move things around to not be burried even more. My utility used to be great, but I was much weaker at the positions and SP, so I am happier with the tradeoff. Still kicking myself for dropping Berkman though in week 1. But can't always make the right move all the time.

ORIGINAL TEAM I DRAFTED (* means contract year keeperwise):
C K. Suzuki
1B A. Dunn*
2B G. Beckham
3B E. Longoria*
SS D. Jeter
OF C. Crawford*
OF J. Ellsbury
OF A. McCutchen
UT M. Stanton
UT C. Granderson
UT G. Sizemore
BN B. Harper
BN L. Berkman
BN T. Wigginton

SP F. Hernandez
SP T. Lincecum
SP B. Anderson
RP C. Perez
RP B. Lyon
P U. Jimenez*
P R. Soriano
P D. Braden
BN J. Vazquez
BN S. Strasburg

You have alot of SP. I would move 1 or 2 for an upgrade elsewhere. You have a good team overall. Give it time and you will climb in the standings. Greinke/Ogando could bring a nice return. Honestly your weak spots are RP and your bench/Util. Those aren't hard weak spots to fix at all. Just be patient and wait for the warm weather to really kick in.

I agree with the previous poster. Greinke has a big name and is somewhat unknown as he's just returning. Ogando has high points that make him a candidate for a good season. The two together should net a nice player. Or you can simply go Greinke for closer.

Greinke, Lohse, and Ogando are all movable in my opinion. You definitely need some RP, and I think your bats are fine really. If they've been cold, they're due to wake up, and they look pretty darn good. So, trade for a closer, and you should be quite alright. ;-D

Help on mine?
