Trade for Jose Bautista... WHIR

Postby NikeTxGuy » Fri May 06, 2011 5:10 pm

What do y'all think of this trade?

MY Ike Davis, Shin-Soo Choo and Francisco Cordero for HIS Jose Bautista.

Thoughts?

My team would look like this:

C - Matt Wieters
1B - Adrian Gonzalez
2B - Neil Walker
3B - Evan Longoria
SS - Hanley Ramirez
OF - Curtis Granderson
OF - Jose Bautista
OF - Carlos Gonzalez
UT - B.J. Upton
UT - Peter Bourjos
BN - Ian Desmond

SP - Felix Hernandez
SP - Josh Johnson
SP - Tim Lincecum
SP - James Shields
SP - Alexi Ogando
SP - Ian Kennedy
SP - Hiroki Kuroda

RP - Kevin Gregg
RP - Jordan Walden
RP - Sean Marshall

While this trade would weaken my batting depth and my relief pitching for saves, i would be getting the best player in the deal and there would be some established power hitting in my lineup... what do you think? I am also doing this 3 for 1 so that I can have a spot for a prospect that will be called up... whether that's Hosmer or whoever.

I think that's a bit too much for Bautista.

I would do that trade in an instant. JOse Bautista will be the best player in fantasy baseball my the end of the year in my opinion. By the Way, WOW your team is stacked. How the hell did you get longoria, ramirez, a.gonzalez, and c.gonzalez all on the same team? That's like 4 Top 10 players right there.

I LOVE Bautista, but I am going to say that this is too much for him. Ike Davis has the potential to be a top 1B, Choo is consistently a top OF (5-tool player) and then you're giving up a very solid closer on a good team...I understand Bautista's value but you would be buying way too high on this in my opinion.

Help w/ mine?

UPDATE: I know that I would be giving up a lot, especially in saves, and not so much with batting, as my batting depth is amazing...

I say this because I recently picked up Gaby Sanchez... and Choo has been struggling and has a limited ceiling... Ike Davis... could be a good sell high for Bautista.

PLUS Ike Davis (1B), Gaby Sanchez (1B) and Adrian Gonzalez (1B)... I need to trade one of them... :( So knowing all of this, should I try and get Soriano or Rios where a new trade would look like this?

I.Davis/Choo/Cordero for Bautista & Soriano or Rios?

I also told him if he doesn't want to add an outfielder of either Rios or Soriano that he would have to pick one of the following in Walden, Gregg or Melancon...

At that point i would definitely do it. If he does the OF I would go with Rios (I don't know if Soriano can keep it up PLUS Rios will get you SB). If not and you can get one of those closers, by all means do it (try for Walden out of them). And although I think Davis is going to be very good i agree with you on selling high on Davis...hopefully it all works out for you, good luck! ;-D

Can I get some more help? :-D Thanks!!
