Shin Soo Choo or Ichiro Suzuki? WHIR

Postby RUnited » Fri May 06, 2011 1:28 pm

Hi, I play in a points mixed league, 7 teams deep and here's how scoring works:

Batters Stat Category Value
Runs (R) 1
Singles (1B) 1
Doubles (2B) 2
Triples (3B) 3
Home Runs (HR) 4
Runs Batted In (RBI) 1.5
Sacrifice Hits (SH) 0.5
Sacrifice Flys (SF) 0.5
Walks (BB) 1
Strikeouts (K) -1
Ground Into Double Play (GIDP) -2
Net Stolen Bases (NSB) 1.5
Hitting for the Cycle (CYC) 15

I have the opportunity to drop Choo for Suzuki and wondering whether to do it. Choo's pts so far in my league is 65. Suzuki is 97.

I've been very patient with Choo from the beginning of the season, but with his latest DUI it seems the wait is going to be longer. I spot Ichiro Suzuki on the free agent list and wondering whether I should make the swoop or keep waiting for Choo to show up. The way our points work, Choo has a lot more upside than Ichiro if he can rack up RBI's in the middle of the Royals' line up.

I've also got Crawford, Victorino, and Francouer on my OF. Choo is on bench at the moment.

Thanks for your input. WHIR as always.

No, you should not drop Choo for Suzuki, he can contribute way more based on your points. A DUI doesnt mean anything, it doesnt affect playing ability, it is a minor PR issue. Miguel Cabrera gets a DUI every year and hits among the best of them. Also, Choo plays for the Indians, not the Royals.

Help on mine?

Choo is having a bad start, but should give you far more points than Suzuki.

I guess I was thinking of Fracouer when I said Royals!

It's quite frustrating watching Crawford and Choo trying to pick themselves up this season, so I've been looking around the free agents pool...

But thanks for the input, guys, I'll stick with Choo for now!

Choo is better than Ichiro not to mention better lineup too.
Larry - "Who's this? Who are you?"
Crash Davis - "I'm the player to be named later."
