Pick 2 From These Starting Pitchers WHIR!

Postby BalancedMan » Thu May 05, 2011 6:50 pm

I currently have Hellickson and Duensing on my roster. Hellickson was really raved about as a sleeper, while Duensing I like (good ballpark for pitchers, low ERA, etc.)

I play in a 8-team H2H league with 6 pitching categories (wins, quality starts, K's, ERA, WHIP and SVs). I'm punting saves and have a bunch of starters on my team, more than others, so I'm not too worried about K's when picking my starting pitchers. Here's my roster:

Josh Johnson
Alexi Ogando
Jair Jurrjens
Trevor Cahill
Cole Hamels
Gio Gonzalez
Francisco Liriano
Ubaldo Jiminez
Brian Duensing
Jeremy Hellickson

Liriano and Jiminez are the weakest but I expect bounce back. Duensing is barely owned I can probably drop him and get him back if I change my mind. I'm not so confident about Hellickson. Would you drop these two guys (or others) from the available list:

C.J. Wilson
Josh Tomlin
Kevin Correia
Zach Britton
Bud Norris
Marc Rzepczynski
Barolo Colon

I'm currently thinking I should drop Duensing and Hellickson for Wilson and Tomlin. Anyone have thoughts or comments on this matter? Much appreciated.

Thanks.

Ian Kennedy is also available in the league, so add him to the prospects....

I like Britton and Norris, although Wilson is ok.

Shoot forgot to mention Beachy and Randy Wolf are still available too...I've seen a lot of talk about them. Does that change anyone's opinion? Let me know, thanks.

I would drop Hellickson and Duensing for Wilson and Bud Norris. If either of those 2 are gone I would say Beachy.

I made the switch from Duensing to Wilson, now just determining who I like more of Norris and Britton. Norris has been on an absolute tear while Britton has been very consistent....this one is a tough call. Anyone else care to chime in?

I would take beachy over britton or norris, however I may be biased as a braves fan!

I would take britton over norris, I dont really have any stat to back this up, I just dont trust norris and the astros in general.

Britton AL east where he plays BOS, NYY, TOR vs. Norris who has a better K rate.
I don't like to rely on early success of a rookie, I see it as teams are now making adjustments on Britton with more and more footage of him at the big league level. Where Norris has already had the league make adjustments to him and he is just now starting to make his own adjustments against the league.
Also Britton hasn't faced any team twice yet and he plays Tampa and Boston soon for the second time, those games will tell a lot in my opinion. If he gets rocked my above comments might be true.

My vote is Norris.

Beachy is a MUST ADD. He is FILTHY. Def over duensing who flies under the rada and can be had. I would hold Hellickson and sit tight with the rest of your staff.

Help with mine?

I also like Norris and Beachy with Wilson being interchangeable with Beachy.
