Thanks for the help. This is really hard to say due to the # of players involved. No huge names so I don't think you'd be keeping any with your 6 keepers.

His:
Matt LaPorta > Mark Trumbo (i think laporta is more ready to contribute this year) = L
Jake Peavy < Zach Britton (britton could be a keeper i guess) = W
Marc Repzeczinski < Jon Rauch (if rauch doesnt get you saves hel'll get you hdls) = W
Felix Pie < Bobby Abreu (pie kinda sucks) = W
Matt Wieters > Jose Molina (i'm a biased wieters fan, i think he'll do better than molina when all is said an done) = L

So i guess ur coming ahead? Honestly it comes down to Britton's potential vs. Wieters. Abreau is pretty good. You lose a good young catcher.

Honestly, I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish with a move, and rarely consider deals without a clear goal in mind. That is just too many players to be able to consider all the implications... and I'm just not sure why you would want to do that? Who is your target in that group, and what are you trying to accomplish in terms of category etc? I certainly never make deals just to make deals... and would generally never look to make something bigger than a 3-for-3... because I don't think thats necessary to accomplish a roster goal.

Long story short... unless you can explain clearly what you are looking to do with that... I say no.

Thoughts on mine?

Well, I am trying to upgrade my weaknesses obviously such as saves, ERA, WHIP and I desperately need another OF as you can see looking at my roster. So, in return for getting Britton, Rauch and Abreu he is getting what he needs in Wieters and a CI in LaPorta. Although he really wants Dunn. Would offering Dunn for Britton and Abreu with some fill ins be a smart idea? I would hate to trade Dunn though. Thanks.

This sounds right, except for the part about Weiters, who I think is rather worthless.

I think that this is a good deal for you... I have Wieters as catcher on my team, and he has his good hitting days and his not so good ones... Thanks for your help on my post.

I don't think the deal really solves any issues. Rauch does not have a solid hold on the closer job, and could be a total washout if Francisco eventually takes over.

I like Wieters though, and from the depth of your league, I think dealing his potential without a clear gain in mind isn't worth it.

thanks for your help,

Was looking at this one and it's tough. As of right now, it looks like your killing him with this deal.

But Rauch and Trumbo can both be pretty useless pretty soon. Rauch may still be good for hlds, but they have Frasor and Dotel to split them up.

Weiters is looking much, much better. And Peavy could come back and be more valuable than Britton. Who even though he has looked great so far with K/9, I think the AL East is going to catch up to him.

So I'm not sure, but I definetly wouldn't do the Dunn deal.

I actually like you in this deal. Here's why:

LaPorta<Trumbo will pretty much own 1B until @ least the all-star break. Kendrys can't run. Period. Kendrys will be @ least a DH before even considering moving in the field, so you're safe. And Kendrys is out "indefinitely."
Britton<Peavy's offense has been anemic, to say the least. Rios has been coming back to life, but everybody else? Not so much.
Rep<Rauch-Rauch is interchangeable.
Weiters>Molina: not by much.
Pie<Abreu

Help with mine, please? :-) viewtopic.php?f=26&t=429664

I can see why this trade seems good, as it potentially fills a need on both teams. I wouldn't do it, as I'm fairly high on Weiters and I do still hope Peavy will one day return to dominance. Looking at the deal, I think there are more breakouts/potential keepers on your side though. Other people here have said either way. So, ultimately, it seems a wash. So, go for it if you feel it makes you better. You can't be faulted either way.

That's my two cents anyway.

Thanks for posting on mine. ;-D
