Pick 1: Smoak, Wallace, Sanchez, Moreland WHIR!

Postby BalancedMan » Thu May 05, 2011 12:41 pm

Due to some roster adjustments I now have Avila and Weiters at C and UTIL, and I'm starting to think I'll be dropping Weiters for a better hitter using that spot in the lineup. Of these four guys who do you like the best for the rest of the season? Sanchez has done the best so far, but Texas has a dangerous lineup for Moreland to hit in, Wallace has been on a hitting tear and I think the power will come, and Smoak...don't love Seattle, but he seems like he could be the best of the bunch. But idk. Anyone have thoughts on this? Thanks

1 - Smoak - because he has been in the majors for about a year and Seattle is hitting
2 - Moreland - gotta love his potential, his good eye for the ball and he hits in a hitters park...concern...rookie slumps..also plays OF
3- Wallace - not a big fan...upside, but like the other two better...

hope this helps!

Moreland is 1B/OF eligible at Yahoo!

Anyone else have thoughts? What about Sanchez? I'm just hesitant because I have Stanton and Coughlan (who I plan to drop for Logan Morrison when he's healthy) and don't feel like I should own the heart of the Marlins lineup given their division and such. Thoughts? Thanks.

I think id go wallace if i were you...id like to see ur team to see if u need the OF eligibility but wallace has been solid lately and ended the season strong last year. I think wallace is capable of 85 rbis while hitting 300 and that may warrant a top 12 1b rank. Id ride wallace for now as hes the hottest i think, and he projects as the most consistent of the bunch

I like Sanchez, Smoak, Moreland, Wallace in that order. I can understand not wanting an entire team's lineup like you would have with the Marlins.

I will say though that I think Wieters will outperform Avila over the season.

Help with mine?

I dropped Napoli to get Avila...just frustrated with the lack of ABs he gets and he's tanked since I picked him up a week ago, his BA dropped like 100 points. In any case, I feel that having two catchers when not needed is a waste. The spot I have open is my UTIL spot so I don't need a specific position, I just feel that 1B are good hitters and seeing as I'm in a shallow league I can plug a decent hitter in that spot. I don't care about SBs. I guess this can sort of be my 'ride the hot streak' spot to slide players in and out for now. Anyone else?
