Overall strategy?

What is a good overall strategy to win? Should I worry mostly about hitting, mostly about pitching or a solid middle? How do I know if i'm making a good trade or giving up too much? Any pointers would help, I've never played before.
I've given up on Avg. and started aiming for HR and SB. I figure Runs and RBI's will follow with HR's. Win, Saves and K's are my goals for pitching. Everything else I'll just hope for the best.

I'm in my second year and followed similar strategy after getting destroyed in HRs and Rbis last year in a 12 team roto. It is not working out so far, runs and avg are killing me. You're team is pretty solid though. I would ditch Sam Fuld, he's come back to earth in a hurry. What about picking up a solid AVG/R guy to use in UTIL spots? Rajai Davis might be out there on the waiver and stole 50 bags last year. He's a better option than Fuld in my opinion for SBs.
