I dropped both Zambrano and Demptser (maybe I got a little bit too ahead of myself) but now am being offered both for Walden. Would this be a good move for me (we don't have an IP cap so SP are technically much more valuable)? My onnly RP would be League Satos and Sanchez for saves, and who knows how well they will do and whether or not they will still keep their jobs, where it looks like Walden has secured his...? I would also look like an idiot if I traded to get two players that I dropped back on my team haha (not worried about that aspect but still). Any thoughts?? Thanks

I like the fact you're getting 2 SP with nice K/9 potential for Walden. Keep an eye out on the return of Cashman and Wells and see if they are on the f/a wire as well.
Keep track of who the Cubbies are playing and see how Zam and Dempster line up against other teams.
I am not sure why you would have dropped either of those pitchers with only a month into the season. They can turn things around in a couple starts, hopefully like what they both did their past two outings, and both be top tier pitchers the second half of the season. I think this trade is a steal, not sure what the guy sending you the trade offer is, maybe just thinking he got zambrano and dempster for nothing, might as well get something he needs from them? Not sure. I would also trade for a 3B, and hopefully your pitching holes are covered with the zambrano dempster trade. Kinda just have to wait it out and watch your era drop if that is what you are worried about.
i think id do this if i were you...though u might feel worisome cause u did have both them before, in terms of straight value ur makin out better IMO. saves are all over the waiver wire lately and u could use some sp depth i feel. HELP W MINE? viewtopic.php?f=26&t=429630
I'm not so sure I would do this. Walden is very set in the Angels closer role and is quite a good pitcher. I think his value could be higher than the two Cubbie SPs, especially since you don't have much of anything in terms of closers.
Depends on how deep the league is and if you have a move caps. If there is decent talent on the FA then I'd just stream pitchers. I don't really trust Zambrano and Dempster this year. They'll rack up Ks but might kill your ratios.

Well I made a couple snags since I posted this...I dropped Boggs and got Padilla since Broxton has been shut down, and now that Lyon was sent for an exam I may do the trade and get Melancon to replace Walden. BUT, and its a big BUT...I am so unsure about these two SPs, just like you're saying. I definitely dropped them way too early but I don't know whether I can afford to have them kill my ratios like you're saying (My ERA is already sky high considering I had Dempster for his 189 ERA performance and every other one of his starts). And in regards to moves, there is a limit @ 15 moves for the year and unfortunately I'm already at 20...we charge extra for every additional pickup after 15 haha Any additional thoughts or info from here would be awesome, thanks, and I'm currently getting to yours!
