Mariano Rivera
Brian Wilson

This seems like a deal too good to be true. Is there something about Zimmerman that I should know?

Ryan just had surgery. He's out at least 6 more weeks.
Boggs might have lost out to Eduardo Sanchez.
Madson is just there till Contreras or Lidge returns.

Zimmerman's out for atleast another month, maybe until the All Star break.
Madson's simply holding onto the closer job until Contreras returns. It's a clear battle between Contreras & Lidge when Lidge comes back. Madson's going to be the set up guy for either of those two in about a month.
Boggs is not a full time closer and his manager keeps dodging away from using him whenever possible.

I would only do this deal if I could afford to wait for Zimmerman's return... but losing Rivera could hurt in the short run.

I'm wondering if there's any news or belief he wont do go after he comes back in mid June. I have Heath Bell, Craig Kimbrel, and I'm sure I can find other closer in waiver.

I have Zimmerman on my DL and I'm partial towards him because I believe half a season from him is better than most with a full season. But then I have Beltre holding the fort and he hasn't done badly at all.

You do have some good closers there, so I suppose this is completely up to your preference... but I still don't think this is a too good to be true kind of deal since we still don't know exactly when Zimmerman's going to play again.

Zimmerman for Wilson/Rivera would have been a fair trade prior to the injury. With the injury, Zimmerman and two questionable closers for Wilson/Rivera is about even, but if your just going to drop Boggs/Madson why not ask for another player you might actually use. I wouldn't reject and counter just yet, but message him and ask if there was anybody buy those two he'd be willing to throw in.

As it stands it's a pretty fair trade if you accepted it now.
