Trade away Zobrist for Ubaldo?

Who would be Z's replacement at 2B? That's a big factor here to me.

Before the season, I would have done this in a heartbeat and since it's only May 3, I think that should still matter. I honestly was convinced Zobrist was a one-hit wonder. Ubaldo's a stud. He's not as good as his 1st-half last year and not as mediocre as his start this year. Idk man...I tend to hesitate to trade for arms but Ubaldo could be a top-10 SP and Zobrist still hasn't completely convinced me (though he's getting there).

I guess it really does come down to plan B at 2B. If there's a solid option to replace Zobrist, I might do it. If not, the potential gain at SP may not compensate for the big drop-off at 2B.

The replacement 2B would be Cuddyer, O-Cab, A. Sanchez, F. Sanchez, Theriot, etc. Not that great.

Hmmm...well, I actually like Cuddyer as a 2B (and depending on the league...1B, 3B and OF too!). Zobrist prolly gets more pop at this stage in their careers but Zobrist is a career .250ish hitter. There is a market correction coming. Zobrist for Ubaldo and Cuddyer? I don't hate that.

Do you believe that Ubaldo's a legit ace? Do you believe that Zobrist really left his .238 10 HR season behind? Personally, I believe a little more in Ubaldo and you know what you'll get from Cuddyer long-term. What the heck, I'd do it.

I gotta say go for it. Ubaldo throws Gas. Ace in the hole here. I would say have Cuddyer come and take his spot. Easy Trade for me

I'd actually pass. I believe Zobrist will have a great year, and I just can't bring myself to trust Ubaldo to be a constant ace pitcher. (I know I'm against the grain here...) Zobrist also has multi-eligibility which will help if you lose a bat.

I think you gotta make this deal. It's a good sell high / buy low situation for a potential ace, and Cuddyer would be a solid replacement.
