Drop my MI for Roberts, and Napoli for Coughlan? WHIR!

Postby BalancedMan » Tue May 03, 2011 12:13 pm

I have a bunch of injuries and as a result am forced to have a hole in my roster until someone comes back. I'm thinking about dropping a player at a scarcer position (SS) to pick up a more productive player in a few situations. Here's my Roster:

C: Matt Wieters
1B: Miguel Cabrera
2B: Neil Walker
SS: Alexi Rameirez
MI: Yunel Escobar
3B:
IF: Prince Fielder
OF: Jose Bautista
OF: Mike Stanton
OF: Carlos Quentin
OF: Corey Hart
OF: Lance Berkman
UTIL: Mike Napoli
BN: Pablo Sandoval
BN: Josh Hamilton
DL: Chase Utley

P: Alexi Ogando
P: Brian Duensing
P: Neftali Feliz
P: Kyle McClellan
P: Josh Johnson
P: Cole Hamels
P: Ubaldo Jiminez
P: Francisco Liriano
P: Gio Gonzalez
P: Jeremy Hellickson
P: Trevor Cahill
P: Jair Jurrjens

I'm happy with my pitching staff at the moment, but I think I can be more efficient with my batters. I feel like if I drop Yunel Escobar I can pickup either Ryan Roberts or Chris Coghlan. I have a bit of flexibility as I can move Bautista to 3B for the time being. I'm also not as high on Napoli as I was a few weeks ago when I picked him up...he could be really good, but I'm looking at Coghlan or maybe even Brett Wallace instead. Anyone have thoughts on what to do with my roster? I don't have to shake it up, but I do feel like adding Roberts or Coughlan or both (for Escobar and maybe Napoli) could be beneficial in the long run. Thoughts? Let me know.

I would drop Escobar and Liriano and pick up Roberts and Coughlan. It's gonna take a few good starts before anyone would even think about picking Liriano up at this point.
