Jed Lowrie

I am in a keeper/contract league. I am in 1st place at the time and should finish top 3 unless I get crushed by injuries or lose too many CL at the trade deadeline. The leauge doesn't not have much FA movement because managers get capped out with their contracts.

Jed Lowrie is available. He is not a bad option, but my biggest question is Lowrie a must have for next year or 2013. I know only time will tell. SS is very weak. I have Furcal (always hurt) and Peralra, neither are long term keepers past this year. Another manager that is my biggest competition has put in a clain on Lowrie. He is in major need of a MI due to injuries and if I can stop him on the claim great. It comes down to is Lowrie a good player to have for the next 2-4 years or am I better off, just picking up the flavor of the year. Lowrie was a top prospect but did not stand out lastt year. It looks like he will have good power for a 2b or SS, but will not provide speed.

I am leaning towards grabbing him for this year and the future. If he gets the PT he could hit 20HR or move. Thoughts on Lowrie?
Thank you for the help.

I'd definitely pick him up in your situation. Furcal and Peralta are not long term answers at SS - Lowrie very well could be.
