Sam Fuld trade WHIR

Postby baegames » Sun May 01, 2011 9:34 pm

Currently have 8 OF (really do not need more than 6)
Brett Gardner
Luke Scott
Austin Jackson
Jason Kubel
Alex Rios
Coco Crisp
Sam Fuld
Rajai Davis

I am worried that nothing in Fuld's history suggests this can continue.

Most SB, Minor League season: 23
Highest Batting Average above A ball: .290

Offer on the table:

Sam Fuld

FOR

Brennan Boesch (will have him for a week only, as I like his matchups this week better than Rajai Davis)
Carlos Guillen
Jhonny Peralta (Peralta would platoon with Maicer Izturis and give me a backup for my all of my hitters other than my catchers)

Should I grab this deal before Fuld falls through the floor? SS are very weak in the AL this year, so this would help. It is an AL Only league.

I'd keep Fuld. Don't really like any of the players coming your way. If you wanna get rid of a fielder, I'd get rid of Austin Jackson and maybe grab someone else off waivers. He Ks way too much and is not gonna hit .300 again like he did last year or ever again if he keeps wiffin like he does.

I think Fuld is losing steam, I have him on my team but dont really like any of those options. Maybe try and package him with someone and make an offer for a better player. Like you said you have too many outfielders.

If you're desperate at SS I'd say take it, I see Fuld slowing down more than he has and dropped from the lead-off spot soon, Peralta is in a good situation for a back up at SS and 3B. But if you can hold out another couple days I would say Fuld can still fetch a decent buy low candidate (J.Zimmerman, J.Piniero, M.Cuddyer, J.Posada) depending on your weakness.
Larry - "Who's this? Who are you?"
Crash Davis - "I'm the player to be named later."
