My Sizmore for Zack Greinke (WHIR)

Postby sigriffey » Sat Apr 30, 2011 2:53 pm

I need better pitching depth behind my front 4. Do I sell high on Grady Sizemore and take a chance on Greinke? Or can I not afford the loss of offense? My team has performed lousy on both sides of the ball, but I do worry that a guy like Ogando could go back to the pen and I need better SP consistent so these scrub pitchers don't erase my aces' gains

Trade Sizemore to get Greinke? Note: Greinke could not be kept, but we can only keep 6 players anyway.

Would I need to make it a 2 for 2? Sometimes 1 for 1s with a pitcher and a hitter get vetoed. If so, who could I throw in in my end? Can't be Moreland or Zimmermann because I won't have them until another trade processes.

UPDATE:

I could do:

Sizemore for Greinke

OR... If I am willing to move Adrian Gonzalez, Hanley would be available.

I could do: my Adrian, Sizemore and _______ for Hanley, Greinke and LaRoche?

Which of those is better for my team?

I personally say your pitching is fine, I mean you obviously have 3 major studs, so I would just stay at where you're at...BUT if you're looking to upgrade depth, which is what you said, and there could be some truth to that, then I would definitely make this deal. I think Sizemore is going to have a big comeback year but for a pitcher like Greinke its worth it in my opinion. Your offense looks strong enough in the OF to the point where it will not be a big loss and you will be getting a great pitcher for "depth" seeing as Greinke is a #1 pitcher haha So yeah I would not be hesitant to make this deal. Good luck!! :-)

I would do that deal in a heart beat.

Hanley > Agon
Greinke > Sizemore

I think Greinke is significantly more valuable than Sizemore right now. The deal with Hanley/Agon is even better. I would do that one in a heartbeat.

Either deal works for me, I'd probably do the Hanley/Adrian deal personally.

Thanks for the help on mine!

I wouldn't. Sizemore is hitting the ball hard. Your offense is slumping, and i don't think Crawford will pick it up a lot.
Besides, you have 3 stud SP, and while Greinke is good, i think he's a bit overrated.
