I need better pitching depth behind my front 4. Do I sell high on Grady Sizemore and take a chance on Greinke? Or can I not afford the loss of offense? My team has performed lousy on both sides of the ball, but I do worry that a guy like Ogando could go back to the pen and I need better SP consistent so these scrub pitchers don't erase my aces' gains
Trade Sizemore to get Greinke? Note: Greinke could not be kept, but we can only keep 6 players anyway.
12 Team H2H. We Keep 6 Players Season to Season, each for 3 years max. * means contract year
C R. Martin 1B A. Gonzalez 2B D. Pedroia 3B A. Rodriguez SS A. Ramirez OF C. Gonzalez OF C. Crawford* OF J. Ellsbury UT G. Sizemore UT C. Granderson UT I. Desmond BN M. Moreland BN J. Lowrie
SP R. Halladay SP F. Hernandez SP T. Lincecum RP C. Perez RP J. Walden P S. Santos P J. Danks BN W. Rodriguez BN A. Ogando BN K. Drabek BN J. Zimmermann DL J. Cueto DL S. Strasburg
Would I need to make it a 2 for 2? Sometimes 1 for 1s with a pitcher and a hitter get vetoed. If so, who could I throw in in my end? Can't be Moreland or Zimmermann because I won't have them until another trade processes.
I personally say your pitching is fine, I mean you obviously have 3 major studs, so I would just stay at where you're at...BUT if you're looking to upgrade depth, which is what you said, and there could be some truth to that, then I would definitely make this deal. I think Sizemore is going to have a big comeback year but for a pitcher like Greinke its worth it in my opinion. Your offense looks strong enough in the OF to the point where it will not be a big loss and you will be getting a great pitcher for "depth" seeing as Greinke is a #1 pitcher haha So yeah I would not be hesitant to make this deal. Good luck!!
I wouldn't. Sizemore is hitting the ball hard. Your offense is slumping, and i don't think Crawford will pick it up a lot. Besides, you have 3 stud SP, and while Greinke is good, i think he's a bit overrated.
