Which Trade do I accept? The one where I get Zimmermann or the one where I free up a roster spot for Cueto?

Deal A:

I give: Tabata, Beckham, Ike Davis and Brandon Lyon
I get: Granderson, Pedroia, and Mitch Moreland
(This 4 for 3 deal would allow me to activate Johnny Cueto sometime next week)

Deal B:

I give: Tabata, Beckham, Ike Davis and Brandon Lyon
I get: Granderson, Pedroia, Mitch Moreland and Jordan Zimmermann

(I would have to either drop someone else to activate Cueto, or drop Cueto and be happy with Zimmermann)

pick ur poison with those two cueto and zimmerman.....id give the slight edge to cueto barely but being that its such a good trade for you it really doesnt matter who u get out of those 2.

I'm leaning towards just taking the 4 for 3 so I can play with a free roster spot until Cueto returns. Zimmermann looks pretty bad right now. Someone may pick him up though when this guy drops him to do the trade.

Agreed, I'd do the 4 for 3. Depending on your league size, you should be able to find someone comparable to Zimmerman anyway.

Am I missing something? The only difference between the two deals is that you get Zimmerman vs. don't get him, right?

TAKE ZIMMERMAN. It doesn't matter if you don't need him. Remember, denying a player to another manager helps you, if only indirectly. Best case, you follow this deal up with a 2-for-1 or straight up for an injured player. Worst case, you drop him and force someone to burn a waiver priority on him. Never turn down a free player.

(Personally, I'd drop Drabek before either Zimm or Cueto)

I would personally take zimmerman as I think he has the most upside...but then again I see your point too...I am always one for having a free roster spot to play with and pick up a FA...Either way you go, it's good. Slight edge to the Zimmermann trade though

Just another thing to consider:

I don't want the deal to get vetoed. Does it look better as a 4 for 3?

It's not vetoable. Just take the 4x4 deal and try and swing a 2 for 1 or something to free up space for Cueto. Nice looking deal no matter how you manage Cueto/Zimmerman.
