How do you guys set your draft order for the next year?WHIR

I run a 16 team h2h points league. I am trying to figure out the best way to set the draft order for next year so draft picks can be traded. I want to do it the way it should be where the last place team gets first pick and so on till the champ gets the 16th pick. This is what I saw in another league i was in....

#1.TBA(League's Worst Record)
#2.TBA (Consolation Ladder Winner)
#3-10.TBA (Regular Season Standings)
#11-14.TBA (Playoff Results/Overall record)
#15.TBA (League Runner-up)
#16.TBA (League Champions)


I thought this might work to keep losing teams from bailing when they have given up. Something for winning the conso ladder and so on. Do any of you have any other ways of doing it or what are your opinions on this. I keep this league very active so I may not have a problem at all but just want to hear other ideas. Thanks
