Jansen has walked over 5 per 9 and has an 8 ERA right now, I highly doubt they are going with him as a closer candidate until he gets things turned around some.
except for 2 bad outings - one opening day against the 1927 Yankee-like Giants and his ATL outing the other day- he's 11 IP of 2 ER, 3 BB and 18 Ks. One or two more positive outings and one or two Vincente Padilla like outings from Vincente Padilla will move Jansen up.
Sure he might earn his way into the role, I just think right now they are looking for someone safe right now and Padilla has 'experience'. I also don't expect Padilla to fail in the role, I think Jansen is going to have to just outright take the job away.

Sigh, I've thought about it way too much since the trade.
Me, too.

two more Ks but a run scores on a dribbler up the middle that bumgarner couldn't field cleanly (should have been an error), a double, and then a pop up to centerfield that fell in front of rowand. only the double was hit hard.
Jeez, I'm 4 for 22 right now...with 3 HR. Everybody on my team not named Ethier or Chris Hitter Young please GTFO.
