Pick up one of these SP? WHIR!

Postby woowoo crew » Tue Apr 26, 2011 11:25 pm

My team is in my sig. 10 team league, with only 3 bench spots. I do have one D/L spot, and Logan Morrison is in it. I wouldn't mind adding to my SP rotation. Here is who is available, but I'm not sure who to drop. (I'm ready to drop Buchholz honestly, as I like having batters to change in and out daily.)

Jurrjens
De La Rosa
Ogando
Masterson
Burnett
Liriano

**I could possibly trade Adam Jones for Gallardo, but I'm just not sure if that's a good move or not.
Any advice?
C: Gattis
1B: Abreu
2B: Utley

3B: Encarnacion

P: Cueto, Strasburg, Cliff Lee, Wood, Latos, Kuechel, Kluber, Arrieta, Ross

The top 4 guys are honestly pretty darn good.

Look @ upcoming schedules for them and see who makes sense for you. :-D

I like all of those guys except Burnett, and I would definitely deal Adam Jones for Gallardo if they'll accept it.

I'd get Liriano why you still can. He always starts slow. And deal Jones for Gallardo as well!

If I pick up one of the SPs, who do I drop? A pitcher... Buchholz, D. Hudson? Or an OF... Fuld? (I could use the SB from Fuld)

Off that list i like de la Rosa the best. He has the highest K potential and pitches for a very good team with great run support, so even when hes not at his best he still has a good chance for the W.
His control problems of the past seem to be in check for the most part this season, and if he keeps his BB/9 blow 4 he will be a legit #2 /#3 fantasy starter.

thanks for the help on mine!

Given the depth of your wire, I might not make that trade; I like your OF much better w/ Jones in it than with either Span or D. Young.

W/r/t who to pick up, it's tough to turn away from Liriano, but I think Jurrjens is in for a great season; he's pitched great since coming off the DL (including tonight) and should put up solid all-around numbers. His K potential isn't as high as some of your other options, but I think he'll be the most consistent.
