So there's 2 intangibles in this trade that I'm really torn over, looking for some advice from the cafe.
My team is in my sig, and I need pitching.
I can trade Berkman and Bourn/Fuld for Latos/Cain.
What is the best value? Bourn or Fuld? Latos or Cain? Or no trade

i think i would trade a combo of any of those 3 for either of those pitchers ..you cant go wrong ....i would try to go berkman flud for cain...i like cain over latos because i feel the giants have a better line up and cain will get more run support

Keep in mind its Quality Starts instead of Wins.
Thats the combo I was leaning towards. Thanks!

I agree ... ask for Cain over Latos. As for who to give up, Bourn is the more proven commodity/better trading chip for later, so I would deal Berkman and Fuld for Cain.
Thanks for your help btw.

I think Latos has more upside in terms of K/IP, but he can't stay healthy and is unproven, so I
d go Cain. As for Fuld or Bourn, you'll definitely get more steals with Bourn and as long as Ed Wade has a job in Houston, Bourn has a starting job there, too.

I agree with everyone here that this deal would benefit your team, especially at this bargain. I feel we know a little less about Latos's track record, which makes Cain the safer option, but Latos might have more upside. Latos beat out Cain in every category last year (not by much though) k's, less walks (same whip), era, and wins. Like many others said, I would be shooting to deal Berkman and Fuld for whichever SP you end up getting.
