I'm in a 5x5 roto 12-team mixed league with a 25 man roster.
My closer situation is horrendous, Axford, Gregg, Thornton and Sale as a flyer for some cheap saves. I recently heard Ozzie G say he was going with Santos for saves in the short term.
How long should I hold on to Thornton and Sale, if at all?
WHIR & Thanks!

Closers and potential closers are scarce in my 12-team league (we have a total of 6 bench positions). I picked up A Bastardo since Contreras went down in PHI, and pretty much all other options for closers and fill-in closers are taken. Not sure how long to wait it out before either punting or scrounging all season for saves.

I would hold onto Thornton but drop Santos.
at this point I could see the next SV op going to Santos and he has been good so maybe he holds onto that role. if Santos was to end up blowing things too I could see Thornton settling down and back into the closers role before Sale gets a shot.
help?

I'd drop Sale. It'll be a while I think before he gets a shot at saves.

Santos has been lights out since the spring... yet to give up a run. Electric stuff... this guy is a closer waiting to happen. And yes Ozzie had said that he would go w/Santos against predominantly right handed batting orders, and we just so happen to live in a right handed world. I say Thornton and Sale are waisted space on ur roster. I'm sure u could make a trade for a solid reliever... hell see if you can't get Santos from whoever grabbed him on the cheap before he goes off. Hope this helps.
