Too Much? (WHIR)

Postby DLentzLMB » Mon Apr 25, 2011 11:03 am

ok so Matt Holliday just went on the block and i have the deepest team in the league. would love to add him. was going to offer Lance Berkman and Kuroda for Holliday. i think this "looks" like too much, so i was gonna possibly ask for a pick in return being that this is a keeper league. keep in mind, i do NOT have a lot of faith in neither Berkman nor Kuroda moving forward. My Lineup after the trade:
Montero
Fielder
Cano
A. Ramirez
Longoria
Kemp
Stanton
Holliday
Zimmerman
Be: L Scott, J Bruce, Kai'Aihue
Verlander
Gallardo
Baker
Lackey
Burnett
A Sanchez
Chacin
Floyd
McCarthy
Masterson
Putz

Too much or should i just offer it and hope hes forced to pull the trigger.

I seriously doubt anyone gives you Holliday for those 2...Berkman has bounced back and is on a good team, but Holliday is on that team as well as is producing too...Holliday is younger and has more upside than Berkman...You will have to give up more to get Holliday

It is not too much, and may actually not be enough. I say try it, but expect you will need to up the ante.

Holiday is such a consistent player.

Help me.

I'm in agreement with the rest of these guys. I don't think you're giving up too much. In fact, I think it's a pretty good deal for you. Kuroda is a solid/average starting pitcher, which are a dime a dozen. Berkman is hot right now, yes, but I think his best days are behind him. I think his ceiling is something around his '09 season - around 25 HR, 85 RBIs. Holliday is a 2nd round caliber player - one of the best OF in fantasy. I'm not dissing Kuroda or Berkman - they are both pretty solid players, but at their level of production they can be easily replaced. If you can cash in on Berkman's hot start and get a return of Holliday, you gotta take the deal. Good luck.
