Drop LoMO (DL) and Take a Shot with Maybin?

Postby Bub381 » Sun Apr 24, 2011 7:38 am

Anyone think Logan Morrison will be in and out of the line up after he returns from the DL (foot injury)? These types of injuries seem to nag throughout the year. I want to take a shot on Cameron Maybin...do you think that adding Maybin and dropping Morrison would be a stretch?

Everything I've read about Morrison is that he projects to be a good hitter with little power in the majors. So holding on to players like that dont help fantasy teams that much. He is off to a good start though, but will it last? I like Maybin, always have. I was surprised the Marlins gave up on him. Im not advocating you pick up Maybin, because he may not be much of an upgrade. It does look like he will be settling into the leadoff spot in SD though
Personally, I would give it a shot

Roger this. Thanks for the help.

I am hoping San Diego's offense turns around soon as well and he starts to score some runs.

I guess out of the 10 available listed above it is tough to tell who should be picked up.

Hopefully Maybin is the right move, though.

I would give Seth Smith and Melky a try with me favoring Seth Smith in that lineup @ Coors as well as on the road.

I picked up Maybin in a 12 team mixed league; so far its working out great. 20/20 player...

It depends if you can take Maybin's BA. He has intrigued me all season, but gets into funks when he simply doesn't hit.

I feel as though Morrison has some trade value upon return if he can start hitting again right away. The power is not real, but the speed is. He could be a solid BA/SB play. But I think Maybin will hit more HRs and steal as many, if not more, bags.

Do you think anyone would want Morrison as part of a trade when he comes back? If not, I don't think you'll kick yourself later in the season for dropping Morrison. Just be sure he doesn't have much trade value before you do.
