Offered Bumgarner for Abreu

Postby KaPluie » Sun Apr 24, 2011 1:49 am

I'm leaning heavily towards rejection. I'm definitely looking for pitching help, and I'd be willing to give up Abreu given that Hart is coming back soon, but I already have a staff with a few underperformers and I don't know if I could cross my fingers on Bumgarner too. WHIR

Keeper league... I would be tempted to do it. You could definitely use another pitcher.

I would do it. Your bench is Gomes and Hart. Plus you have a pretty stacked OF. There will be suitable OF players available in your w/w, I'm pretty sure.

Study Bumgarner's stats and you'll see an increase in velocity with poor defense. IMO, he's a nice buy low option.

Who is on your pitching roster that you would drop, if anybody?

Thanks for your help. I'd probably drop Clayton Richard. I'm afraid Bumgar won't get his act together this season. I can only keep 3 players (2P,1O or 2O,1P), and keepjng Bumg would be giving up a 12th round pick. If I were to choose today, I'd keep Votto (1st round pick), Gordon (21st round pick), and Liriano (5th round pick).

Only keeping 3 players, I wouldn't do the deal.

I know it's tough, esp in H2H leagues.

I agree with the person above me as far as keeper's go-don't do it, especially to give up a draft pick down the road.
