Hayward for Castro? WHIR

Postby TheGinner » Sun Apr 24, 2011 12:59 am

I was offered Hayward for my Castro straight up.

What do you guys think? Castro is tearing it up, at a shallow position. The only other option I have at SS is Tejada.

Offensive Categories: H, HR, AVG, RBI, R, OBP, SB, CS, TB

MY SS: Castro, Tejada
MY OF: Bruce, C. Young, Soriano, Hamilton (DL)

Top Ranked SS on Waiver Wire: Bloomquist, A. Sanchez, Theriot, Peralta, Escobar

Any opinions appreciated. Leave a link

I would definitely accept this deal. Heyward is under-performing so far. Castro is decent, but I don't expect him to keep even nearly this pace all season. Even though your other SS options aren't great, you could always make another trade for one. The sheer value you are gaining most certainly trumps any SS problems.

Take Heyward to the bank. Great sell high on Castro imo.

Agreed... you gotta take this deal. No brainer imo. You're increasing the value of your team too much to decline this offer because of losing Castro, who has been a viable SS so far. I wouldn't hesitate to make this deal at all and would possibly check out the fa for a better option than Tejada.

Do the trade. Escobar is a great pickup on the w/w if you need a SS.

I forgot to put first initial. It's Alcedes, not Yuniel.... I'm assuming you were refering to Yuniel as being a good pickup. :-]

Damn! I like Yunel, but I'd take Tejada over Alcedes.

This is a prototypical sell high, buy low deal.

I would definitely take it. Castro cannot keep this pace up, and Heyward is going to have a very good season.
