Because his rubber arm is legendary. I tend to agree though. They could have let someone else handle the 9th considering he was already up around 115 through 8. If there's one pitcher in the game who you wouldn't worry about 130 pitches, though, it's Halladay.
Halladay is to the CG in the 21st century as Babe Ruth was to the HR in the 20's and 30's.

Everybody has their limit, though. Even the best pitcher of our era. No reason to push him in an April game, imo.
