I think his injury messed everything up. For example his velocity is down 3.5mph right now. It shouldn't be a surprise that he's pitching terribly. Does he need more time to recover and increase his velocity? Or is he still injured and that velocity isn't coming back?
A few days ago during the Giants series vs the Rockies i was listening to Eric Byrnes on KNBR. He said that before one of the games he had a conversation with someone on the Colorado staff. (i forget who exactly who it was that he spoke to, but it was someone that Byrnes had previously had a professional relationship with from his short stint with the Rockies in 2005.)
Anyway, this source apparently said that Ubaldo was "afraid to let it go" and was still experiencing enough discomfort from the cuticle injury that he wasnt throwing at anythign near full strength, and suggested that Ublado came back at least a couple weeks too early. Now this is just 2nd hand information obviously, but none of these guys have any reason to make anything up in this situation, and it does lead me to believe that Ubaldo has NOT recovered and may find himself back on the DL again soon.

Lilly: not worried.
Reynolds: if you drafted this guy, you signed up for this. Don't spend time worrying about whether he starts hitting dingers. If you are dead set on keeping him, worry about if and when he gets benched. They have already started down that road. Drop him.
Johnson: Was never that good to begin with, which is why the Braves let him go. Has shown flashes of real talent, but not enough for me to think it was the norm, rather than the exception.
I'm really starting to get a little worried about Cargo. Joyce and Melky have been filling in his place just fine, but I wonder if he'll start performing like a 1st rounder anytime soon.
Same goes for Crawford. It seems like he's starting to hit but he hasn't been running much. I wonder if he'll run like Ellsbury when he goes to the top of the lineup.
I'm also worried about Wright. I know he put up some descent numbers since the beginning of the season, but I bought him low when his BA started to drop. Ever since then he's done 2runs / 2sbs in 27 abs. .148 BA.

Johnson: does have 4 HR and 6 SB. he may not be hitting well but at least he's giving you something..
Johnson is hitting .188 with a .589 OPS. Whether or not his expectations were too high isn't the issue...those numbers are far below his career averages. He is 4 for his last 13 with a couple SBs after getting benched, so maybe he's starting to turn the corner a bit.
