Zimmerman, Beachy, Pineda. pick 2

Postby cs3 » Thu Apr 21, 2011 3:05 am

I have Morrow coming off the DL this weekend and can only keep 2 of Beachy, Pineda, Zimmerman.
who do you like going forward? If i can trade Francisco or Contreras by saturday then this wont be an issue, but i'm not sure if that will happen, and I cant see dropping a guy who is 90% certain to get the closing role in the near future

this is for a H2H league that counts W, QS, era, whip, K, SV

Pitchers
SP: Mat Latos (SP), Jordan Zimmermann (SP), Daniel Hudson (SP)
RP: Jose Contreras (RP), Craig Kimbrel (RP)
P: Jordan Walden (RP), Huston Street (RP)
BN: Frank Francisco (RP), Michael Pineda (SP), Brandon Beachy (SP), Jon Lester (SP), Max Scherzer (SP)
DL: Brandon Morrow (SP), Stephen Strasburg (SP)

I like Pineda and Zimmerman by a lot over Beachy.

Pineda is the easy call. I prefer Beachy to be honest, but its very close. Go with your gut.

Pineda

Zimmerman
Beachy

I would like zimmerman more except he's not getting K's right now. I'm guessing it's SSS since his pitch velocities are good but I have to be a little hesitant with guys returning from TJ.

I'd go with Pineda and Zimmerman, but I could talk myself into Beachy given enough time I think.

I guess my feeling is that I'd keep Zimmermann because he's got more upside, but I wouldn't be shocked if Beachy outperforms.

Pineda for sure.

Between Beachy and Zimmerman, I'd go with Beachy. They are close enough, but the tie breaker goes to Beach. Better team, more opportunities for wins, and I think Zimmerman's "potential" is overrated in most fantasy circles. If anything I like Beachy's potential more.

I'd keep Zimmerman and Pineda. Beachy can get washed out to sea.

looks like the consensus is keep Pineda, and a majority of guys are saying keep zimm/drop beachy.

i think those 2 have similar value but ive been a big believer in Beachy since last year... hes always struck out at least a batter/inning and has continued to do so at the MLB level so the K's will always be there. And like sixer mentioned, he pitchs on a much better team so he has a better shot at W's.
i dunno, if its that close it probably doesnt make a huge difference overall for my team.
anyone else want to offer up an opinion?

Keep in mind Beachy is the 5th, so he could get skipped here and there. And Mike Minor is always lurking to take that spot.
