yes!.. this is some great news for me. I got him for $1 as a reserve banking on Nen being hurt. I read it on my Sportsline league, but I cant get to it right now, so I cant show you the quote.

Here ya go ...
Sportsline 3/28:
News: Matt Herges will begin the season as the San Francisco closer. According to the Contra Costa Times, general manager Brian Sabean confirmed veteran Robb Nen (shoulder) will begin the season on the disabled list.
Analysis: Herges is a solid selection in most Fantasy formats in the middle- to late-rounds or for a low to medium bid. With Nen's uncertainty, Herges might be a very valuable Fantasy pitcher.

i expected nen to begin the season on the DL. the big question is how long will he be there? will this be like worrell last year or are the giants just being cautious with nen. personally i think nen is still going to pitch this year.

Talented Mr. Roto hates Herges for some reason "he throws, he doesn't pitch", but I've got him in three leagues and even if he only gets 10 or so saves, he's going to be a nice era and whip chiller.

Do you think he can get me a better ERA and WHIP than Soriano.
I can't afford to drop a closer or a hitter.

He won't get you better ERA or WHIP but he won't be worse by much and his saves will compensate for that in value. Closers can always be traded for the good later on, just like steals.
