Desmond & a closer for Reyes? WHIR

Postby saemick » Tue Apr 19, 2011 12:09 pm

I'm looking for an upgrade at SS and the way Reyes has been playing...I'm intrigued (though still skeptical with his injury history). So, is he worth Desmond & say Brandon League, Burnett, or Lyon? Here's my current roster:

12-team 6x6 H2H Yahoo! NON-KEEPER league
c: Posada
1b: Miggy
2b: Beckham
ss: Desmond
3b: Youk
IF: Fielder
OF: McCutchen, Pence, Fuld
Utl: Alvarez
BN: Snider, Raburn
SP: Verlander, Liriano, Scherzer, Volquez, Hellickson, Zimmerman, Pineda, Jurrjens
RP: Broxton, Perez, Walden, Lyon, League, Burnett
Stat categories: Hitters: R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS Pitchers: W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP, QS

Is that my biggest area of need or should I target somewhere else (OF, SP, etc..)

In a 6x6 I would do this all day. Anything above a 5x5 and closers become overrated. I don't think someone would do this deal but if they would, then yes.

Help with mine?

YES! If you could trade Desmond and any of your closers for Reyes you do it. But I agree with rjlmets, I don't know who would be willing to trade Reyes for so little in return.

Yes, I would do this deal. The tricky part is going to be finding a manager who wants the other end. I would try offering more. Reyes is an injury risk, but there are not many middle infielders that have that kind of 5 category talent.
