Add Lowrie?

Postby dubstar » Tue Apr 19, 2011 12:06 pm

I am sold on his skills, just not sold on him having a full time job. What are your thoughts? And who should I drop to add him, time to cut Jeter? Andrus is also out there.

Why not? The plan before the slow start was that he'd play 4-5 games a week all over the infield (and always against lefties). Now that he's hitting and they're winning I can't see how they can afford to sit him.

I'd much rather have him than Jeter (but hey, I'm also a Sox fan).

I agree with the last poster and would pick him up immediately. I just dropped Uribe, who I hate but still... He will be a top 10 MI this year by the end. No way Boston benches him.

I turned down a Jeter for Lowrie flip yesterday and elected to keep Lowrie. If he gets ABs I think he pushes for a top 5 SS this season. I'll probably catch a ton of heat for it from guys in my league, but it was a roll of the dice I had to make. I think you're carrying too many starting pitchers. I'd let go Ervin Santana for him. I think Aaron Harang is going to continue his really nice year in PETCO. Carrying that many starting pitchers will absolutely murder your ERA and WHIP eventually.

Yeah I agree, drop Santana for Lowrie. You have plenty of SP and can use the middle infield help. Lowrie could be really good this year.

I wouldn't do it. Santana isn't great but he does put up some solid numbers each week. Lowrie has no job and honestly I think you will be frustrated by his erratic playing time all season. Not worth the headache in my opinion.....
