My OF is Manny, Sheff, Wells, with Guillen as a Utl. Im trying to work out a trade for oswalt, involving guillen, but the more i think about it the more i think guillen will actually put up better numbers than wells this year. last season was a breakout one for both player, and guillen is absolutley killing the ball this spring (.872 slug%). also, wells had 33 homers and 117 RBI, guillen had 31 homers and 80 somethin RBI, but guillen had about 200 LESS at bats then wells. they both hit for about the same avg, and guillen is hitting in a stacked angels lineup this year. anyone agree with me or am i just crazy to consider keeping guillen over wells??
haha, well i think i would have a better chance of getting oswalt if i just offered wells straight up, rather than this Guillen/pitcher package im working on. i may just be trying to convince myself id be better off with guillen, though i do think hes gonna have a monster year. even if i do trade wells though, i get oswalt and my OF is still Manny, Sheff, Guillen, whch is not too shabby. plus i could always stick jaun gone as my utl, or alex sanchez to get some steals.
I think the difference is Wells has two good seasons under his belt. Guillen had been a disappointment before last year, and he slowed down a bit in the 2nd half (although not too badly). He could be as good as Wells, but I want to see it again before I'm convinced he's not a fluke.
I'd never give up any total offensive stallions for a pitcher period.
find a way to trade pitchers for pitchers.
pitching i feel is something you can tweak as the year progress's.
you'll never get wells, or guillen back. but you may do some research and pick up a sleeper pitcher 3 weeks, or 6 weeks into the year that turns out to be a hudson, or willis (the first 8 games )
