I'm not a hockey fan, but I am a sports fan and pay a little attention to it and I could recognize maybe four players on the championship roster and one of those guys is 43 years old. The NHL has a huge problem marketing their players because even if I don't watch the games I should be able to recognize more than four names just from exposure. I don't know how in the world Bettman is still commish. Also... for a league that bases most of their teams in the US isn't it a little odd that only two players on the entire Bruins roster were born in the states? The league feels more like the MLS every day. I don't want to hate the NHL, but they make it so easy.

You're right that Bettman's an idiot, but I don't get your 2nd point. The best players in the world are foreign born, so that's why the teams get them. What do you want them to do? Put themselves at a competitive disadvantage by taking Americans? Who cares if I'm watching Russians play as long as they're playing good hockey?
