the kid can flat out hit. i drafted him on every team in the 15th rd or later expecting him to be a top 6-7 SS, adn so far hes delivered way above expectation... 15 hits, 8 R, and 5 RBI this week alone. so far on the season slashing .418/.582/1.025 with only 4 K's scary that he just turned 21 and will only get better... might we see him develop into a near-Hanley caliber player?
and ya all you sample size blowers can go cry some where else... this is the STARLIN RULeS THE WORLD thread
His upside is more poor man's Derek Jeter than Hanley. Starlin will probably give you a .310 BA, 85 runs, 8 to 10 homers, 60 rbis, 17-20 steals, which is fantastic for where you drafted him.
not that i wouldnt be happy with that stat line... but i think its more like his floor at this point, and would not be surprised AT ALL to see him post those numbers but with a few more runs + rbi this year, and then steadily improve his HR totals over the next 3 yrs into the low 20's. he also has the potential to steal way more than 20 bags... he not a great baserunner yet but iexpect that to improve as well.
hes definitely going to get bigger/stronger. hes still just a kid

wat since when is this the Waiver Wire forum?
i guess the Tulo, Tabata, Wright, Delmon Young, Asdrubal, Liriano, Kila, Youkilis, and Stubbs thread that are all on the first page must have also pissed you off when you realized that you couldnt get a single one of those guys off the wire either!
man i can only imagine your outrage when you scoured your player list and realized every single one of those guys was 100% owned... and someone had the audacity to post a thread in Baseball Leftovers about each of em! the HORROR!
edit - hey padsin05, just searched your username and realized that you're a derisive, condescending dick in everyone elses thread too, so i wont take it personal
Starlin doesn't have the body yet to develop into a slugger like Hanley, but he is still young so the power may yet come. What I really like about him is his incredible zone recognition. 67 ABs so far, and he's only struck out 4 times! FOUR! He just doesn't swing at bad pitches out of the zone. Definitely a stud in the making.
