My McCutchen for his Ubaldo Jimenez (WHIR)

Postby sigriffey » Fri Apr 15, 2011 4:02 pm

I could use some SP help ... I will be able to use my #1 WW claim shortly on Delmon Young. Can I afford to deal McCutchen to get Ubaldo? NOTE: I can keep McCutchen thru 2012 but Ubaldo through this year only.

Give: Andrew McCutchen
Get: Ubaldo Jimenez

I'd keep McCutchen. Your staff isn't too shabby, and the extra year for McCutchen pushes it well into his favor. Stay put.

I wouldn't do it. I like your staff a lot actually.

I think McCutchen will be better than last year, but Ubaldo will be worse. Throw in the length of time you can keep each of them, and this seems almost too easy.

What if I could get Ubaldo and Drabek for McCutchen?

I wouldn't do it. You have 3 aces on your staff already. You might try Sizemore for a Drabek or SP, but I would sit tight on McCutchen, even with his struggles.

Everyone is singing the same song it seems, but yes, stand pat. McCutchen will have a pretty good year, especially with the Pirates becoming relevant. I honestly think Ubaldo will look more like his post all-star break self this year. He had lightning for a while, but I just wouldn't trade huge talent and short myself on the keeper year. Your staff is very nice. You might trade a lower end player for an upside SP, as one suggested Sizemore for Drabek. I'd go for that if I could.

Sorry for saying nothing new, but everyone is on the ball. Stay the course. ;-D

If you don't mind, viewtopic.php?t=427488. I would appreciate any thoughts. :)
