Need help trying to make a trade. WHIR

Postby bareass » Thu Apr 14, 2011 2:29 am

There's an owner trying to make a trade with me who appears to have an interest in my OFs (Kemp, Victorino) but has also tried to make moves for my pitchers Morrow and Josh Johnson.

I'm interested in his players:
Adrian Beltre
Ryan Braun
Hanley Ramirez
Chad Billingsly
Tommy Hanson
Francisco Liriano
Zack Greinke

He's offered Liriano in all the trade offers so i'm assuming i can get him at a low cost. Here's my team, who do you think i should make a move for, and how etc.

C Brian McCann, Atl C
1B Justin Morneau, Min 1B
2B Dustin Pedroia, Bos 2B
3B Mark Reynolds, Bal 3B
SS Troy Tulowitzki, Col SS
LF Ben Francisco, Phi LF, RF
CF Matt Kemp, LAD CF
RF Willie Harris, NYM LF, RF
UTIL Shane Victorino, Phi CF
UTIL Denard Span, Min CF
Bench Corey Hart*, Mil RF DL15
Bench Pedro Alvarez, Pit 3B
Bench Grady Sizemore*, Cle CF DL15

SP Josh Johnson, Fla SP
SP Max Scherzer, Det SP
SP Ted Lilly, LAD SP
RP Andrew Bailey*, Oak RP DL15

Braun seems to be the one that would clearly help the most, and if you could get him without giving up JJ would be ideal but may not be possible. Worth considering even if you have to include JJ but would be better to include Morrow if he wants him that much (plus Victoriano or whatever else is needed).

Grienke would be a good option if you could get him at a good deal while he is still on the DL but you have so many guys on the DL already it may not be worth it

I would still go after Greinke. Peavy will be worthless even after he comes off the DL. The guy isn't the same pitcher and is pitching in a hitter friendly park. To be honest, I don't think he is worth even a DL spot at this time.

I would target Braun. Hanley never lives up to the ADP. Hanson has become a better pitcher at the expense of his K numbers. Liriano is a ticking time bomb. If you could package JJ and a hitter for Braun you would do yourself well., although your moves wouldn't be finished since it would leave your pitching thin. But one move at a time since you can't change your whole roster in one trade.
