Sands homered in his fourth consecutive game for Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday and is now batting a healthy .417/.429/1.000 with 14 RBI and just one strikeout in 24 at-bats. Spin: Maybe our next post on Sands will come when he doesn't hit a home run. James Loney's days in LA are starting to appear numbered.
What's his value for this year? And going forward? I haven't done much research on him, but I did pick him up a few days ago in my dynasty league. It looks like he is a legit power hitter, but what will the average end up at?
I made a bet in 2003 that the Devil Rays would win the 2008 World Series. Oh so close.

Sands was on the cusp of getting a highlight in Rookie Watch on Monday. Baseball America rates him out as the Dodgers 6th best prospect. Solid walk-to-strikeout numbers with pop are things I like when glancing over his number last year. If he keeps making contact at the rate he is, you have to like him even more. He struck out in just under a quarter of his at bats in Double-A last year, pretty good for a slugger. Do keep in mind, while his HR numbers are impressive, the PCL and Albquerque are known to inflate power numbers, so take them with a grain of salt.
