I would definitely do that. He might not make it past the #1 guy. I like Snider this year but not sure who else you would drop. Is this a Keeper? If not maybe Morrison. Or Peavy?

Yes, I'd definitely do this. IMO, your waiver priority can either be put to good use or be that albatross that you seem to hold onto all year w/o ever using. Is there a chance a better player will get called up or dropped, sure, but why not go for the sure thing and try and get a proven player. I would definitely do this.
