5x5 12 Team H2H Yahoo League: *Closers are VERY difficult to come by
Pitching staff consists of the following:
SP's:
Brett Myers
Brian Duensing
Anibal Sanchez
Jeremy Guthrie
Max Scherzer
Ted Lilly
RP's:
Broxton
Street
Franklin
Lyon
Venters
Motte (Franklin handcuff)
Need to drop one to make room for Latos coming back, and would like to do it before his 2nd start this week. Do I take a chance and drop Venters since Kimbrel has been so dominate? I have a feeling that a Kimbrel implosion could happen at anytime, I have noticed that he's been forced to throw over 20 pitches each save opp he gets...
Pitching is at a premium in this league and starting pitchers are hard to come by, so I'd be really relunctant to drop any one of them. But of course, if Duensing gets rocked or Sanchez gets rocked again, I'd have to seriously consider dropping one of the two... Thoughts?
Plus I only have 1 bench hitter and it's Morneau so dropping a hitter is out of the question... (riding Ike Davis' hot start)

Sanchez or Duensing, if you want to drop a SP.
Any advice on my question?

I know it should be Sanchez or Duensing... but my real question is drop one of those two, or drop Venters?

Ah, I see. I'd still drop Sanchez or Duensing. In a 12-team league they strike me as replacement level players. I think Kimbrel holds onto the job in ATL, but if you've got a feeling and want to hang onto Venters then keep him. Given what you said about closers, Venters sounds more likely to get picked up off of ww than either Sanchez or Duensing. Worst case, Venters gives you a small amount of decent IP. He won't wreck your ERA or WHIP, even if he doesn't do a whole lot else for you.

If you're gonna go with a SP then obviously Duensing or Sanchez...BUT I had Venters in a 12 team league and dropped him a couple days ago and no one has picked him up yet so I would say that might be a safer bet right now (Kimbrel seems to have that job locked up)...Just now saw that post about Motte so I would definitely go with him now though...
Good Luck
