Keep in mind it's a 16 team league, and my 2b at present is Orlando Hudson, who is servicable enough but comes with limited upside, especially in that weak Padres lineup. I have the bench spot to stash Lawrie (who's hitting very well at AAA at the moment). Encarnacion is his usual scary self at 3b for the Jays and it's only a matter of time before he's called up.
But am I dumb to waste the bench spot that could be used to stream pitching???
In a batting only league with ample bench spots, yes it would be worth it. However, in a standard league the ability to rotate pitchers is much more valuable. Stay tuned to whether or not he will be called up, you will probably be able to get him off waivers even when he's called up.
I don't know enough about the situation, but doesn't Lawrie have serious questions about his defense? Clubs usually value defense over offense, especially when calling up a young guy. That being said, Toronto might be aggressive with Lawrie to get some butts in the seats. Tough call, but I'd probably do it...streaming pitching isn't really my thing.
If you've got the spot, and your username is "JaysFan" then yes, by all means use a roster spot on him. Is this a keeper league? If so, then definitely do it.

Could he really be worse than Edwin Encarnacion???
I am just scared that somebody else will grab him.
