Which prospect package is better?

Postby bxshock718 » Sun Apr 10, 2011 4:03 pm

I have two offers for Greinke
Option A) Greinke for Grant Green, Dellin Betances, and a first round draft pick in the 2011 minor league draft
Option B) Greinke for Jaff Decker, Jarrod Parker, and Alcides Escobar
First, which trade is better for me (I have Greinke). And are either of these a good trade for me?

By the way, it is a 16 team dynasty

#1 is better than #2 by a large a margin as #1 in 2011 will probably be Rendon. If you don't feel like you can contend in the next 3 years, I say pull the trigger for #1 but if you do feel like you can compete. It might be a good idea to hold onto Greinke.

Yup, pretty much completely depends on if you are able to compete in the next few years and also how your current minor leaguers look...you don't really want to mortgage everything in trying to grab as many prospects as you can...you want a good core of prospects but don't just trade away top 15 pitchers because it'll net you even more prospects. What does your team look like and how have you finished the last year or two with that team?

Both of those are terrible offers. He says that it's a first rd pick and not the first overall pick.

I don't like either of these two offers as well. I think you can do better and if not you still have a top 20 SP under the age of 30 which isn't a bad thing either.
